For Inquiry we had different choices . In Joy's inquiry we did some gardening and science it was fun.

What did you accomplish? We made the garden behind the library much more pretty.

Why did you chose Joy's inquiry? I chose Joy's because I enjoy science and I would have time to work on the enviroteers project.

How will your inquiry impact the future? All classes will have their own garden and a more beautiful spot to do things in.

What I did for writing was cinquains and Free Verse free verse is a poem with no rules and a cinquain has 2 syllables then 4 syllables then 6 syllables the 8 syllables then some ting describing the first line. We had to design a slide to go in a sort of poutama magazine.

I think my poems are the best I have done and I have definitely thought outside of the box with using topics no one else thought of.

Date of Origin

  • Why do you think the author kept back till now the information about the role that Rezza’s father played in searching for ways to overthrow the Guards? (Pg.96) because the information might have been dangerous to anybody who knew it so he kept to himself
  • Serge is revealed as a spy for the Guards by his glowing fingernail. (Pg.104) Did you predict this? Why? Why not? What signs have there been? He was much too edgy and I saw that he was spying but I only suspected it then the fingernail gave him away.
  • Why do you think the cake tin is so important in the battle to overcome the Guards? because the cake tin probably has some sort of chemical or explosive element that is set off by the guards molecular structure, maybe.

Date of Origin

Rezza compares life in the city to life at the cabin. (Pg.88) Why do you think the author makes this comparision? To show how Rezza doesn't like the city and how different it is.
Will talks to the elders about how “Tomorrow’s going to be … a perfect dsy for the big party.” (Pg.91) What makes Rezza suspect Will is making up stories about a party? Maybe she suspects there is a hole in Will's story(Pg.94)

For writing this term we have been doing poetry with troy. My story is about getting an eyelash stuck in your eye.

I blink, I regret

I can feel it grinning, giggling

Pure torture

Rub Rub Rub

Still there

now there's two

I blink, I regret

The only sense I used was touch because you cant smell an eyelash, you cant see an eyelash, you cant taste an eyelash and you cant hear an eyelash.

I used things like rub rub rub, I repeated some things like I blink, I regret.

Next time I will use more onomatopoeia and make it longer.

Date of Origin

  • What connections do you think the author wants you to make to phrases such as “herded into transit wagons and transported to camps”? (Pg.46) I think the author is writing it and relating it to WW2
  • How do you think Kesai feels about her future as her Date of Origin approaches? How would you respond if you were in that situation? I would join the rebels and beat the gaurds quickly so my date of origin doesn't come.
  • What do you think happens when people turn into Aggers and are programmed to work in the mugatyl industry? I think because of their little barcode thing it would take over the brain and go straight to a guard outpost so the guard would transform you

  • What questions do you have about the book from what you have read so far? How did the guards take over so quickly and why didnt earths defences like launch a nuclear missile at the guards?

Self Directed Learner

I think I am a Self Directed learner because I can do all of the things in self managing
The goal that I am currently working on is "Having a sense of urgency"
The things I need to do to achieve this goal are move faster, get more work done, be more serious about my learning and get faster at doing my work.
